Prep Now for the Busy Season

The weather is cooling along with the real estate market, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to slack off and wait until February to prep for your busy season! Now is the perfect time to make certain you are ready for all the listings you’ll be adding and showings you’ll be going on.

Making sure your CRM data is up to date is a good place to start! Check your contacts list for bounced and unsubscribed contacts and remove them. Look for duplicates and trim them down and eliminate those useless contacts that have no other information than a strange email address and a number or special character for a name. There’s no sense in sending batch emails to contacts that won’t benefit your business in some way. These emails also cause an undesirable bounce rate.

Start a plan on what subjects you’d like to address in this Winter’s newsletters. Market predictions for the next year, monthly financial information, and even tax tips are some financial topics to address. Encourage those who are thinking about selling to start doing the minor updates now, with tips for decluttering, cleaning and painting, and links to your blog if you’ve written about these topics.

On weeknights, line up a free one-hour workshop or Q&A for first-timers, complete with printed information, and briefly talk about the process of buying and selling a house. If weekends are more your speed, host a longer session one Saturday afternoon with a few informational “booths” that pertain to buying–or selling–a house, and invite colleagues and others you work within the real estate business.

Advertise anything you’re offering to the public as an event on social media. Make certain your event directs those who are interested to a landing page on your website in order to create new leads. Most people who are preparing to buy or sell are happy to give their first name and email address for more information or a monthly newsletter.

However you choose to stay busy during the slower season, little things you do now will save you time when you would normally feel swamped. If you find that time allows you only so much, let Virtual Real Estate Support assist you with marketing, EDDM Postcards, graphic images, as well as CRM.
